Knotty Notions

Back in 2008, I decided to start a project wherein I would "do something knotty every day" and blog about it. I knew the probability of failure was high because I am easily distracted and only so self-motivated. Still, I am reasonably pleased with the initial consistency even if it did only last 3 months. If you build it they will come didn't appear to be happening. There was very, very little feedback to my activities and sometimes it seemed like there was no reason to continue but for my empirically unfounded vanity? Am I blaming you for my failings? A little bit. 8-)

Of course, there were reasons to continue. I don't actually tie knots just for you. 8-) The research I do is for my own interest and education. I share, because I believe in doing so I am making the world a better (and craftier?) place.

I go through periods of industrial grade procrastination, but other times I am just doing things elsewhere. I do stuff on Instructables and Instagram, among other places. Sometimes I do stuff and don't post it online anywhere! 8-) That said, I'm hoping to make it easier and more rewarding to post to my own blog than it is to just throw stuff up on Instagram and the like. We'll see. 8-)
